I had these fun photos of my oldest daughter after one of her choir concerts and they wore ugly sweaters and I just loved the photos I got. I used a sketch from the Stuck Sketches site for my inspiration as well - who says sketches can only be for traditional scrapbooking? I used this sketch:

Simple Stories Mistletoe Kisses Layouts

Hey blog friends - thanks for stopping by today. I have the Christmas photo scrapping bug and just picked up the adorable Mistletoe Kisses Collection from Simple Stories and thought I would share with you the 2 layouts that I did:
This first one is for the Creative Scrappers Sketch 301 Challenge. It was fun to use all the different pattern papers in the collection on this layout. Here is the sketch:
And here is my take on it:

I loved the Elf movie quote on the journaling spot. Perfect for this photo of the kids singing carols at our family Christmas party a few years back.

The next layout has some of my favorite photos ever of Ashlyn. One year Santa brought her a very rare pack of Hamtaro figurines clear from China. She was so happy and excited and I loved that I captured all that joy in photos. I love the font that the word Joy was made with. I am such a font junkie :)
Thanks a ton for stopping by today - Happy Holidays friends!

Hot Chocolate Holder - Sweet Treat Gift Idea

Hello and Happy Holidays Doodlebug fans! I am up on the blog today with a fun little gift idea. These came together really quickly so they are perfect for those last minute gifts or if you need to make a whole bunch of gifts to give away- these are perfect. I made Hot Chocolate Holders from some cardstock and some fun elements from the Here Comes Santa Claus collection. Here is what they look like:
Let me show you how to make these: You will need a 4 1/4 x 11 inch piece of cardstock and a scoring tool.
On the 11 inch side of your cardstock , score your paper at 4 3/4 and then at 10 inches.
Fold on all the scored lines to make the bag.

From here you can decorate the front of the bag. I chose a 4x4 inch square of  Trimming the Tree pattern paper and a 3 1/2 x 4 inch piece of  a few different shades of gingham- linen Petite Print papers. I cut them on a diagonal and made them into a little pocket. I then slipped some various die cuts from the Odds and Ends. I added sentiments from the Santa Celebration pattern paper cut into banners as well. I also added some Candy Canes and Holly Berries shaped sprinkles. I finished the top of the bag off with a white button and a double bow made of bakers twine.

To attach the hot chocolate packet to my bag, I simply ran a piece of double stick tape to the back of the top flap, and then taped the packet to the flap. Here's the inside:
Hopefully I have inspired you to whip up a batch of these fun holders. They are great for teachers, co-workers, and also kids can make these for their friends since they are so easy to do. Thanks for stopping by today! Happy Holidays!
