Mermaid Dreams - Echo Park Paper Card

Hello, Echo Park fans! It's Tya up on the blog today sharing with you handmade card featuring the lovely Mermaid Dreams collection. It has such beautiful colors! I am so loving purple right now so I included a few of my favorite purple papers on my card.

I created this card by using a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inch piece of white cardstock for the card base. I find myself always reaching for the 6x6 paper pads when I make cards. The small scale is just right for card making so I chose some pattern papers from there to decorate my card front. I used a piece of dark blue paper and glued it to the card base. I cut a piece of coral and light teal paper from the 6x6 paper pad. I cut a scalloped edge on the coral paper with a border punch.

I then cut a slightly smaller piece of light purple bubble paper out. I ran this paper through my manual die cutting machine and used the Mermaid Scales Embossing Folder to add some dimension to this paper. I then located the small multicolor bubbles paper from the 6x6 paper pad and cut this paper into a banner shape. I decorated the card with a few different stickers from the Element sticker sheet. The sentiment, shell, seahorse, and mermaid are all stickers that I mounted to the card with some foam tape. I added 2 small rhinestone jewels to the bottom corner.

I really liked this starfish and wanted to use it as a decorative element. I found this on one of the 4x4 Journaling Cards and fussy cut it out. I cut 2 small strips of purple stripe paper from the 6x6 paper pad and notched the ends to make 2 banner shapes. I glued these to the back of the starfish. I  added a blue twine bow and a rhinestone brad from the Decorative Brads to further embellish the starfish. I add this to the card front with some foam tape.

Here is another look at the card all put together.

I had so much fun with this collection. I have always loved anything mermaid themed and this collection did not disappoint! I hope I have inspired you to make a few handmade cards of your own with this beautiful collection. Thank you so much for stopping by today! Happy Crafting!

Let's Party Layout - Echo Park Paper

Hi friends- it's Tya up on the blog today and I am happy to share with you a layout I created using the "Let's Party" collection. What a fun collection this is! It was just what I needed to highlight a couple of fun pictures from my daughter's 18th birthday celebration. I really had fun with it!

I love the color combo of pink, yellow and aqua so I mainly stuck to those colors for my layout. The Hooray Words paper is used as a background and then I added a few strips of the Make a Wish and the pink side of the 3x4 Journaling cards papers. I also used a scallop edge punch and punched out a paper border from the Yellow Coordinating Solid paper on the left edge.

I started decorating the layout with some stickers and ephemera. If you look close, you'll notice I added a few paint splatters on my white cardstock paper for some splashes of color. This kind of mimics confetti and I like how the colors stand out on the white paper. I journaled on a bracket shape ephemera piece and then layered a few stickers on the top right corner.
To decorate the bottom left corner, I added more stickers and ephemera. I love layering stickers and added dimension to my sticker clusters by using a few pop dots on some of the stickers. I loved the "I'm So Glad You Were Born" ephemera and stuck that right below the lower photo. The sticker paper chain adds a fun touch too.

That's all there is to it! I hope I have inspired you to make a birthday themed layout of your own using this adorable collection. I loved the colors and the icons are super fun. Thanks for stopping by! Happy Crafting!

I Heart Crating Card - Echo Park

Hello everyone! It's Tya and I am so excited to share my project with you today! I love, love, love fun fold cards and I have been wanting to try one of these types of cards for a long time.  I am using the adorable I Heart Crafting line for my card and I wanted to add a craft store gift card to the card for some added fun for the recipient! They get a cute card and a gift - Bonus!

I used this tutorial to make the base of my card: Diagonal Double Pocket Card. It was very easy to follow and make. I loved the idea of putting  2 tags in the pockets, with one holding a gift card in it like shown below:

The collection has some really lovely patterned papers in them. It's best to use one that doesn't have a pattern on it that needs to face a certain direction. I chose the Fancy Floral paper for my base. The edges of the pockets are just some strips of the Yellow/Orange Coordinating Solid papers that I punched out with a scallop border punch and glued to the edges. I decorated the tags a little bit, but not too much as I wanted them to be able to slide in and out of the pockets easily.

The inside of the card can be left blank, but I chose to add a couple more stickers in the corners and also include a place to write a little note to the recipient.

That's all there is to this fun project. I hope I have inspired you to pick up this amazing collection and make up a bunch of these cards for your crafty friends! No need to think of a gift when you already have one done! Thank you for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

Down on the Farm Card - Echo Park Paper

Hello there!  Tya here - and I am up on the blog today sharing a handmade card using the super cute "Down on the Farm "collection! What a fun bunch of products to work with! I have a farmhouse theme decor in my home and was really excited to get to this play with this collection because it totally speaks to me!

I started with a solid red from the 6x6 paper pad. I then trimmed down a piece of the cute farm truck paper from the 6x6 paper pad as well. From there I took the yellow plaid 4x4 card from the  4x4 journaling card paper and placed that down. From there I added cut out the cute letter board card from the  3x4  journaling cards. I added that on top of the yellow plaid. Now the fun part - the decorating!

I loved this cute tag from the Frames and Tags Ephemera. I tied a bow from jute and added it with a glue dot to the top of the tag. I also added a blue button tied with some twine.

I loved this cute farmhouse from the Element Stickers and added it to the card with a foam dot. I also trimmed a section of the chicken border sticker, which is also on the Element Stickers and placed in along the bottom edge of the card.

I found the red plaid label in the Frames and Tags Ephemera and place the Farm Living piece on top of the label with foam tape. The label is from the Ephemera. Another blue button tied with twine was placed on the bottom corner. I tucked a cute farm doggie sticker behind the Farm Living piece. He was too cute not to add. :)

I had so much fun creating this cute card - if any of you are farm lovers like me, you will need to grab this collection and make some cards as well. It has so many fun elements - I can't wait to make more!
Thank you so much for stopping by today! Happy Crafting!

Home Banner - Our House Collection by Carta Bella

Hello there! Tya here up on the blog today! I am so happy to be sharing my project with you all - I made this fun home decor item using the lovely "Our House" collection by Carta Bella. I have this frame that I like to decorate with different themes and display it on a table in my living room. I knew when I saw this collection I wanted to make another banner to display.

I used some kraft cardstock as the bases for the banners and then added a few different pattern papers from the collection. I turned to my trusty Silhouette and cut out letters from Ebony Black Linen cardstock and some ovals from Natural White cardstock. I then decorated each letter with the stickers and  Ephemera from the collection. Here are close-ups of each of the letters:

I love the florals and butterflies in the collection and so this letter is decorated with a few of those stickers.

How cute is that kitty cat sticker? I layered the hello sticker on top of one of the Ephemera pieces. I also added a few heart stickers and Ephemera banners to this banner piece.
I fell in love with the Home Sweet Home sticker and used this on the right side of the letter. The collection also has some really cute houses on the sticker sheet so they were added to the bottom left side.
My kitchen is the center of my home and this letter was a tribute to that. I loved all the different little sub-themes in the collection and the bowls and utensil stickers were just too cute not to use.
Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope I have inspired you to run out and grab this collection and use it to make your own home decor. This Our House Collection is perfect for so many great projects. Have a great day and Happy Crafting!

Carta Bella Paper | Circus Party Set

Hi there! Hope you are all doing well! It's Tya up on the blog today sharing a fun party set with the adorable Circus collection. This collection is simply so fun! I loved all the circus themed colors and icons!  It made making this set so easy!

I chose to do 3 different party favors you could use for a circus themed party. First off is a gift bag. I found a small blue gift bag at the craft store. I cut out a square of yellow and white dot paper from the 6x6 paper pad for the background. I then made a medallion/badge accent on the card using some blue striped pattern paper from the 6x6 paper pad, some chipboard shapes, stickers and Ephemera. I mounted the medallion shape to the front of the bag with some foam tape. I added a few enamel dots as well. I finished the bag off with some blue bakers twine.
Next I made a popcorn box from a cut file that I cut out with my Silhouette. I used a 12x12 piece of Join the Circus paper to make the box. The box is decorated with a yellow banner shape cut from some solid yellow paper from the 6x6 paper pad. Then I added a chipboard clown and stars, some more Ephemera and enamel dots as well. I tied a bow on a bag of popcorn with more of the blue bakers twine.
The last favor I made were a couple of cupcake wrappers cut from the Greatest Show 12x12 paper and a cut file on my Silhouette. I  added some chipboard animals to a plastic stick and added a few word stickers, chipboard stars and enamel dots. I  also finished these off with more blue bakers twine.

If you have a circus themed party in mind this collection would be so fun to make favors like these ones to give to your party guests. I hope I have inspired you to create some of these fun projects for your next circus party. Thanks for stopping by - Happy crafting!
