God Bless the USA layout - Doodlebug Design DT project featuring Hometown USA collection

Hello there! I hope everyone is having a wonderful summer so far! I am getting so excited for the upcoming 4th of July holiday- it is my favorite holiday! I had a great time using the super cute "Hometown USA" collection to make this fun festive layout.

I thought this photo of my daughter, niece, and nephew in red, white, and blue clothes made it the perfect photo to highlight. They were enjoying a fun hometown parade, excited for all the candy they were going to get!! The awesome papers that I used for my background- the light blue of the All American paper paired so well with the bright Picnic Plaid and Red, White, and Blue star papers! One strip along the top from the border strips on the Polka Dot Pride paper made a great eye-catching base for the top of the layout.

Let's look at some of the details on the layout:

A cute trio of fireworks with the fun "Land that I Love" Shape Sprinkles in the center are so fun and add great interest in this corner above the photo!

I love that Doodlebug has made acetate papers with each of the collections. I used my stitched star metal dies to cut out some stars out of the "Festive Fireworks" acetate. I love the subtle touch they add to the page!  How cute are the beautiful blue stars from the Mini Jewels as well? They add just the right amount of sparkle on the page without overwhelming the other shapes!

My title - "God Bless the USA" is from the Chit Chat!

This little cluster of embellishments was so fun to put together - I used one of the tags from the "Tag Your're It" paper is always a great spot for journaling! I added some fun red, white and blue bakers twine to the top. How adorable is our cute little patriotic friend with her wagon full of flags! That die cut and the sign post are both from the Odds and Ends. More acetate stars and a small silver star finish this cluster off. Too cute!

Along the top of the page, I made another fun cluster with more fireworks, stars, and jewels to frame the cute "Fourth of July Parade" banner from the Chit Chat. I love how shiny this group is with the silver foil, enamel hearts, and small jewels!

I had so much fun creating this festive layout, and cannot WAIT for the parades, fireworks, and celebrations coming up soon! I hope my layout has inspired you to grab this cute collection and get ready to add your own patriotic celebration photos! We will see you all next time- Happy Crafting!

Have you ever tried a different page size than you normally do and fall completely in love with it? That is what happened to me when I tried a new format to my memory keeping! I love these Travelers Notebook size pages (mine measure about 4 1/2 x 8 1/8 inches)! My scrapbooking time is limited in the summer with all the activities going on and so this quick and easy style is right up my ally! Today I have 2 of these spreads to show you highlighting some fun 4 of July memories using the new "Hometown USA" collection.

My first page is a pocket page that I divided up using my Fuse tool. I wanted my 4x4 inch photo to be in the center, and then I used my Fuse tool to make the 2 x 4 1/2 inch sections on the top and the bottom.

I filled my bottom little  pocket with the Festive Firework Acetate. I then filled it with the super cute Land that I Love Shakers, the Silver ball Shakers and some glitter and tinsel from my stash. This makes for a interesting interactive element to my page. Look at all that sparkle and shine!
The next page I made into a pocket that holds more photos of our fun night watching fireworks. Along the top I layered some of the adorable firework and star die cuts from the Odds and Ends ephemera. I also added a tag from the Chit Chat and added the Uncle Sam die cut to the front. I love how he is just peeking up from behind the title of the page. I added some red, white and blue Doodle twine to the top of my tag for more festive fun!

My July 4th title is from the Chit Chat and it sits on top of my journaling block. More decorating was done with some Puffy Stickers.

My next spread is a fun one and my photo matched perfectly with the Patriotic Puppy Doodlepop- so I had to use it !

A smattering of embellishments decorate this top section - lots of stickers, and ephemera from the Odds and Ends and Chit Chat were used.

The papers in this collection are so pretty as you can see on this page which also features my journaling. The silver is a great touch ! (Even if its a little hard to photograph :) )

I hope that these 2 festive spreads make you so excited for the upcoming 4th of July Holiday! It is my favorite holiday and I loved getting to work with this amazing  collection! Also- I hope I have inspired you to try a different size of layout than you normally do, you may just fall in love with it like I did! Have the best day crafty friends, and we will see you next time!!

Do you know someone who is in the need for a little pick-me-up? These fun loaded pocket Get Well Soon gift holders is  just what the doctor ordered! These little cuties were super quick and easy to whip up and I had so much fun decorating each of the little gifts that are stuffed into this package of  well wishes!

To make the loaded pocket ,  I followed this tutorial here! I loved that it utilized a whole sheet of 12x12 paper! All all you needed to do was do a little scoring and glueing and you were all set to decorate and fill this all up with your goodies! I used the super cute "Thinking of You" paper with its sweet florals and pops of color with the yellow and white polka dots! It made the perfect base for this holder.

I decorated the front of the holder with some cute heart paper from the 6x6 paper pad and added this fun "Hope You're Pilling Better" sticker from the This and That Sticker sheet. I also added the cute scallop silver heart border sticker from this same sticker sheet to the top edge of the front pocket. Love the bling and shine this gives! I also added several of the pills from the "Happy Pills" Shape Sprinkles to the sticker.

Inside the front pockets, I included a quick and easy greeting card that was decorated with a cut apart from the Candy Striper paper. The "Wishing you Well" banner sticker also comes from the This and That sticker sheet.
I made a simple little matchbook style tea bag holder from some Love Blooms paper.

Here is a little peek of the top pocket. I've  stuffed it up with 4 different little decorated gifts.

I added some cute pink heart paper to some Tums and decorated it with some Icon Sticker sheet stickers. I also included a hand sanitizer holder that I decorated with some stickers, and Odds and Ends. I tied a fun red and white polka dot ribbon for some color and dimension. Isn't that little germ sooo cute? Doodlebug can even make a germ adorable!

Here are a few close ups of the little gifts.  This mini tag from the 6x6 paper pad was perfect for this little travel size pain reliever bottle. Its tied on with some Cupcake Bakers Twine

I  made a cute holder with a fun bag topper filled with some cough drops. I folded over a Swimming Pool doily and then decorated the doily  up with some Odds and Ends, Chit Chat die cuts and a strip of flowers from the 6x6 paper pad. I also added some "Heart Attack" Shape Sprinkles.

This was a very fun gift to put together ! I am going to whip up a few and keep them on hand and then I will have them handy to give to my loved ones when needed! With as quick and easy as they are to do, this will be a great gift to keep on hand. I hope I have inspired you to make your own little loaded pockets like this one too! Thank you for stopping by today ! We will see you next time! Happy crafting friends!

You know its a special collection when you have been saving a bunch of photos for years, just waiting for the right papers and embellishments to come around to scrap a memory! Well imagine how happy I was when Doodlebug release the Happy Healing collection! Perfect photos for this special little memory I have of my husband taking out my youngest daughters stitches years ago!

I had a lot of fun making this custom title of 'Doctor Dad" using some of the Chit Chat,  Bits and Pieces and the cute Ladybug Puffy Sticker Alpha. The silver - while hard to photograph- sure brings a bright pop of stunning color to this collection!  The addition of a cute red cross sticker from the Puffy Icons add a fun bit of dimension as well. I made my own clipboard with some Textured Cardstock and a tab punch that I used some silver metallic paper to make the clip. The awesome Silver Assortment Sprinkles add great dimension and I have sprinkled them throughout the page.

A couple of tags and a cute speech bubble peek out from the op of my photos and are tied  with  some bakers twine for interest. I love this bright red "Cross My  Heart" paper that the photos are mounted on. I added a little bit of my own "stitching" with some white gel pen accents.

The bottom corner is decorated simply with just a cute phrase banner and  row of colorful hearts from the "Chit Chat" die cuts. The strip of "Candy Striper" paper along the bottom of the layout tie all the bright, happy colors of this page together nicely.

Finishing out the layout in the left, bottom corner are more decorations. I loved the darling doctor lab coat and it looked great peeking out behind my photo. My daughter was indeed "so brave" and so I added this arrow sentiment and a cute striped heart with a staple in it for texture to finish off this cluster of embellishments.

As you can see, my daughter and husband were all smiles after this little procedure, and I was all smiles being able to record this fun memory of the two of them! The Happy Healing collection sure fit the bill with these cute photos! I hope that I have inspired you today to record some of your "boo-boo" memories as well! We will see you all next time friends!

Doodlebug's New DIY Snow Globe! Cute Gift Ensemble featuring the "Over the Rainbow" Collection

Hi there crafty friends! It was so much fun getting to play with the brand-new D.I.Y Snow Globes this month! I don't know about you, but it has been a little dreary in my neck of the woods and I knew I wanted to brighten things up so I used the super bright and happy "Over the Rainbow" collection and a few Doodlepops from the "Bunny Hop" collection to create this fun little gift ensemble which includes a snow globe, a cute shaker lid container, and a whimsical Tag Flip!

To make the Snow Globe, I used the 6x6 Rainbow Wishes paper with the cloud background and layered up some Odds and Ends, and the cute "Hello Sunshine" Doodlepop to make a little sky scene. I added some of the "Gnome Sweet Gnome" 6x6 paper and traced the base of the Snow Globe onto it. I then added it to my Snow Globe base and decorated that section with a cloud, a button tied with some yellow twine, and some cute yellow pom-pom trim to finish it up.

I used the Cupcake, Bubblegum, Ladybug, Tangerine, Bumblebee, Limeade, and  Swimming Pool Shaker Balls to fill up the Snow Globe. Aren't they so much fun?

Next, I created this cute little container with a shaker lid! Believe it or not, this is made from a small Pringles Can and a 3-inch plastic ornament half to make the shaker lid. I fell in love with this little technique and can see myself making oodles of these! They are the perfect way to showcase all of my favorite Doodlepops! They are so fun to fill up too!

To cover my Pringles can, I used a 4 1/2 x 10-inch strip of Over the Rainbow Stripe paper. I then added two of the decorative border strips from the Lucky Me paper. I added the "It's a Rainbow Kind of Day" die cut to the front of the can with some foam tape. I also added some cute yellow pom-pom trim to the top of the border strip along the bottom of the can. Cute colors abound here!

To make the lid, I added some lightweight chipboard strips behind the clouds on the "Hello Sunshine" Doodlepop. This made it fit well in the dome. I added a 3-inch cardstock circle on top of the plastic lid and then glued the Doodlepop down with hot glue. I added the Shaker Balls to the dome and then centered the dome on top of the lid. The dome is held onto the top of the lid with hot glue. This is so fun to shake up!

On the inside of the container, I did a quick little tag flip and featured some of my favorite pieces of the "Over the Rainbow" collection. It fit perfectly, ribbons and all, inside the container!

As you can see, the first tag on the page is a shaker tag that was decorated with some pattern papers, and acetate. The shaker balls were a great interactive element for the cover tag on this little flip!

Here are the tags I did! Lots of layering of 6x6 papers, Odds and Ends, Chit Chat, and Puffy Stickers!

Getting to play with the Snow Globe and Shaker Balls was such a delight and I am thrilled with how this little set turned out. I plan on giving it to a cute niece of mine to brighten her day! Thank you so much for spending a little time here on the Doodlebug Blog today! I hope you have the best day and we will see you all next time! Happy Crafting Friends!

Hello Crafty friends! I am so excited that it is finally starting to feel a little bit like Spring! Today I am up on the blog sharing my project featuring the cute-as-can-be "Bunny Hop" collection.

I created a fun layout with a few selfies I took with a fun Easter Bunny  Ears filter a few years back. I love how the colors match perfectly between my photos and the collection! Doodlebug does bright, happy, and fun so well and absolutely did not disappoint with this cute collection! Let me show you a few close-ups of the parts of my page:

I created my title by layering up 2 sentiments from the Chit Chat. I added the cute bunny and fun flowers, that are from the Odds and Ends and Bits and Pieces Ephemera on top of the Hello. Then some sprinkles in the flower centers. These are placed on a Cupcake Doily and a circle of the Spot of Spring paper. I love how the doily adds a bit of texture to this part. My journaling was typed out and added above the title.

I thought the Springtime Stripe paper was the perfect background for my layout. It was fun to do a play on the stripes on my bunny ears in the photo. I backed my photos on some textured cardstock that matches the collection. A cute flower cluster and "Im all Ears" speech bubble from the Chit Chat round out this part of the layout.

The bottom section of my layout is a fun one as I got to play with lots of the collection! As you can see, I added a section of Bubblegum Textured cardstock there and separated this part from the top part of the layout with a border sticker from the This and That sticker sheet and some festive yellow pom-pom trim from my stash! The pom-poms remind me of cute fluffy chickies!
I cut out (10) 2x2 inch squares in two rows and got to decorate them all up with some goodies. I used some buttons and twine from my stash, a few pieces of Petite Prints, and then some cut parts and pattern papers from the 6x6 paper pad, some stickers from the Icon Sticker Sheet, and plenty of ephemera and Shape Sprinkles from the collection.

This fun collection was an absolute joy to create with and I am soooo excited to get to play with it more with all the Easter and Spring photos I have. I hope that I have inspired you today with this layout! This is a great one to recreate if you like to add lots of embellishments to your projects like I do! Doodlebug does some of THE best embellishments in the industry and this was a fun way to display them! Thank you very much for stopping by today! Have the best day and we will see you all next time!
