Scor-pal and Paper Smooches

Hi there - Tya here with my take on the fun swap that we got to participate in with Paper Smooches. They absolutely have the cutest, most whimsical stamps out there that are totally right up my alley!
I got to use the new stamps set called Think Fast. It featured lots of darling food shapes. I decided to make a fun little gift card holder/card to give to your special someone when you need a  lunch date! I was inspired by a pin that I had on Pinterest, like this one  here, I just changed the measurements and made it a single pocket instead of a double. Here's how I made it:
Greeting Card with Gift Card Holder Pocket

Supplies:
Think Fast stamp set by Paper Smooches
6x6 paper pad from My Minds Eye Collectable papers
Buttons
Twine
 6 x 11 Red cardstock
Kraft cardstock 3 1/2 x 4 1/4 and 3 x 5 1/2
Scallop border punch

Step 1- On the 11 inch side of the red cardstock, make score marks at the Triangles on the Scor-pal. (these are the marks you would use to make a brochure fold)

Step 2- On the 6 inch side, score at 1 1/2 and 3 inches.

Step 3- Trim away the bottom and middle sections as shown. NOTE: its ok if you have score marks left on the sections showing. This is just meant to be a card base and you will eventually cover these with other papers.

Step 4-
Now you will choose 3 different pattern papers to cover the card base.

These measure 3 1/2 x 5 3/4 (stripe), 3 1/2 x 4 1/4  (green dot), 3 1/2 x 2 3/4 (yellow)

Add these layers to the card as shown:

Step 5- Add Scor tape as shown to make the front pocket:

Step 6- Decorate the card as shown:
Banner is 1 x 3 inches, Kraft cardstock on left side is 3 1/2 x 4 1/4, Kraft cardstock on right side is
3 x 5 1/2, white cardstock is 2 1/2 x 4 1/4. Add  sentiment  and soda cup stamp. Add button and twine.

Kraft paper border strip 1 x 3 1/2 - used a scallop border punch. Red cardstock is 2 1/2 x 2 1/2, Red stripe paper is 2 x 2. Add sandwich stamp and buttons.

Thanks for joining me!

Thank you for stopping by and letting me show you my take on using the beautiful and yummy ribbons from May Arts on a project using my Scor-pal! I am such a ribbon fanatic - this was a match made in heaven for me!
With the school year wrapping up I decided to make a fun little teacher appreciation gift for my children's school teachers. I decided to do my take on a pull out treat box. I thought this was a great way to highlight the ribbon! And who doesn't love M&M's right?

M&M Pull Treat Box
Supplies:
Back piece of box  3 1/2 x 7 inch paper or acetate (Piece A)
Front piece of box 3 1/2 x 6 1/2 inch paper or acetate (Piece B)
2 x 6 3/4 piece of cardstock for belly band
(2) 2 1/4 x 2 1/2 pieces of cardstock for belly band
(2) 2 x 2 1/4 pieces of pattern paper for belly band
(Paper I used is from My Minds Eye Collectable 6x6 pad)
1 yard of Ribbon ( I used this Red Sheer Line Ribbon from May Arts)
Tag made with Silhouette Machine
3/8 inch hole punch
M&M's or other similar candy in a bag

Just a note- I used acetate for my box base, but for tutorial purposes, I used a piece of white cardstock.

Step 1-Score the Back of the box piece (Piece A)  ½ inch on 3 sides (2 long sides and 1 short side)

Step 2- Score the Front of the box piece (Piece B)  ½ inch on 3 sides (2 long sides and 1 short side)

Step 3-Snip 2 bottom sections on both black cardstock pieces and adhere to make the bottom of the box.

Add adhesive to outer edges of the tall back section of box and then slide the small front section to the outside of the longer piece.

Step 4-Punch hole in front section of box.
Punch 2 holes in top and bottom of candy bag. Run ribbon from the bottom hole through to the top hole.

Step 5-Take bottom ribbon and pull it through the hole in the front of the box and stuff the candy to the inside of the box.

Step 6- Make the belly band. For the base you will need the 2 x 6 2/4 piece of paper. Score this paper at 1/2 inch, 1 inch , at the triangle mark right after the 3 1/2 inch mark and at 4 1/4 inches. Fold around the box and adhere in the back.
Add the cardstock and pattern papers shown below to the front and the back of the belly band as shown.

Step 7-
Add a decorative tag and tie the ribbon to complete the project.

Money box featuring Doodlebug Design Cap and Gown

Have a grad? Need a cute gift idea? Why not give the gift that everyone loves...cold, hard cash!
This fun little gift box features the new Cap and Gown line by Doodlebug. This line is perfect because it is done in all black and white - you can add any other color you'd like to them. I chose to use the traditional black and white colors for my box. I used this box by Lori Whitlock that I cut out with my Silhouette and then added a 4x6 Simply put card to the back. Add some embellishments, Oh and don't forget the moolah - and you have a quick, fun little gift box!
