Bunches of Bunnies- Lori Whitlock Design Team

Hi Lori Whitlock fans! Its Tya up on the blog today and believe it or not - Easter is right around the corner!  So in honor of this special day - I have rounded up Bunches of Bunnies! Take a peek at 3 of my favorite bunny themed projects from Lori's cut files! These little treat boxes would be perfect for table favors for Easter brunch or dinner, a cute teacher or friend gift or a fun addition to Easter Baskets!

The first bunny project is this darling Bunny Shaped Box. Every year my Easter basket always had a chocolate bunny in it, and it is a fun tradition that I like to carry on with my own kids. This little guy is the perfect container for any sort of chocolate bunny treat you can find.

My next project is this cute little Purse Bunny that I added an acetate sheet in the window and filled the purse up with jellybeans, but you could add any sort of treat or little prize like some fun lip gloss or even a gift card. I added a fun ribbon handle as well.

And finally, I had to do this darling little Easter Bunny Tic Tac Wrapper. The carrot paper in Lori's Easter Friends Digital Papers were perfect for my favorite flavor of Tic Tac (orange is the BEST). Add a fun little bow tie to the Tic Tac box for some added whimsey. :)

So here are my projects! Hopefully I have inspired you to stop by Lori's Shop or on the Silhouette Design Store and pick up these adorable Bunches of Bunnies! Have a wonderful Easter holiday - thanks for stopping by!

Inspired by Challenge : Banner - Doodlbug Design Team

Hi here Doodlebug fans! Over on the Doodlebug Design Blog this week we are doing an Inspired by Challenge. I adore using my Doodlebug products to make cute home decor items for my home ,so when I was on the hunt for the perfect wreath for my door to celebrate spring I came across a lovely paper banner wreath designed by Mendi Yoshikawa and knew I found just what I was looking for! Here is Mendi's wreath:
 And here is my wreath:

I adored Mendi's use of all of the awesome pattern papers that come in each of the lines.  I used the fronts and backs of several of the pattern papers, from the Hello Sunshine line just as Mendi did.

Instead of the stars, I added some flowers from the Spring Flower Craft Kit. I also added some buttons and glitter sprinkles to the centers of the flowers. The darling little bee and butterfly are from the Icon Sticker sheet.

I also did a banner that I cut out from my Silhouette with the letters that spell Spring from the Hello Sunshine Icon Sticker Sheet. Add some twine and some cute little mini clothes pins to complete the banner.

So that's my project! Thanks Mendi for the inspiration! And be sure to stop by the Doodlebug Design Pinterest Boards to get some inspiration of your own! There are so many wonderful projects on there to get inspired by and make your very own! Thanks for stopping by!

Fun Washi Tape Borders

Hi there friends - thanks for stopping by - I am up today on the Doodlebug blog continuing our Washi Tape Challenge week with a fun way to use washi tape as a border. I will teach you 2 techniques today that would work great on cards or layouts both - so here is what I did!

The first technique I want to show you is to use a border punch with your washi tape. This technique combines two of my favorite products that I use all the time on my projects, so why not combine the 2 of them right? So I found 2 of my favorite border punches and then 4 different swiss dot Washi Tapes and 4 thin stripe Washi Tapes in colors that match my papers. Here are the steps to creating this border.

1-  Place the Washi Tape on the edge of a length of cardstock. See the excess Washi on the edges? Leave those on and wrap them around the back edges of the cardstock. When we go to take the tape off of the cardstock these excess edges will make it easier to pull the tape off the cardstock after we are done punching it out.
2- Punch out the border.
3-Punch all the way across the paper.
4- Very carefully peel the Washi Tape from the cardstock. Go nice and slow so you don't rip the tape and start peeling the tape off  along the back edges with those excess edges we did.
5 - Layer your tapes on the card front.
6 - This is the card with all the different tapes on them.

The next technique is a Washi Tape Ruffle. This is such a darling technique and so easy to achieve..

1- Cut 2 strips of Washi tape. Make sure that you make the tape bigger than what you are going to layer it on. Because we are gathering the tape, it needs to be bigger to adjust for that.
2- Place the 2 tapes together with the sticky sides on the inside. ( This was a little tricky - thank goodness the washi tape is so forgiving. If you don't get the edges straight the first time - or the 5th time like me - it is easily repositioned. ) :)
3- Add some strong adhesive tape to the underside of the paper you are adding the border to. Take the Washi Tape and just start gathering it. It doesn't need to be even, I just started gathering and went until I got to the end of the Washi Tape.
4- Here is the completed ruffle. Isn't it fun? You could probably add more layers of Wahsi Tape as well if you would like to.

I hope I have inspired you to look at all those rolls of Washi Tape you have and decide to use them on some fun borders like I did. Thank you so much for stopping by! Happy crafting!

St. Patricks Day Treats - Lori Whitlock Design Team Projects

Hi everyone - its Tya here to share with you a fun set of St. Patrick's Day treats just in time for all your little leprechaun festivities coming up. Lori has a darling new St. Patrick's Day Digital Collection over on Snap Click Supply that I used to spruce up a simple cupcake and a soda bottle. I used the Print and Cut feature on my Silhouette on both of these projects - it's one of my favorite things to do with my Silhouette and Lori's files. Here is what I did-
First off - let's start with the Cupcake Stand - here is a quick tip for you. As you can see, the original cut file had just a simple scallop edge. I wanted to make the cupcake stand a little more festive , so I went in and found a shamrock from one of my favorite Lori cut files and went in and replaced the circles in the scallop edge with the shamrocks. The wonderful thing about owning a Silhouette is that I can mix and match and customize my cut files to fit a theme or holiday. It was simply a matter of ungrouping the orginal shape, deleting the circles and replacing it with my resized shamrocks instead. Super easy and think of all the different shapes you could substitute - hearts for Valentines Day or stars for the 4th of July - the possibilities are so fun!
Here are a few close ups -
Check out the cute cupcake wrap and here is a better photo of the shamrocks that I added instead of the scallop circles.
I did a print and cut of the Kiss Me I'm Irish sentiment and made it into a cupcake topper with the help of  a scallop circle and a some button and twine. Add a green Pixie from Doodlebug Design - and you have a custom made cupcake topper!
Next up I decided to grab a green bottle of Sprite and add a bottle label and a custom sentiment to the label that I made with the beautiful Vintage Font for the Shamrock Soda. I added a polka dot shamrock with an orange button and some twine to finish it off. I also added a scallop border punch to the top and bottom edges of the sentiment.

So that's all there is to my projects. I love taking basic everyday items like cupcakes and Soda bottles and using my Lori Whitlock shapes to fancy them up and make them fun and festive! Thanks for stopping by!
