I used the awesome "Retro  Summer" collection from Simple Stories to create these - and can I just say how much I LOVED working with this bright and cheery collection? Wow- I am so ready for Summer now! (And I want Ice Cream!)

Simple Vintage Berry Fields cards - Simple Stories Design Team Project

 Hello, Simple Stories fans!  I am here today to share my latest batch of handmade cards. This time around I was transported to a summer day, filled with flowers and sunshine, and strawberries! I had the pleasure of working with the lovely “Simple Vintage Berry Fields” collection to create my 6 cards. This collection was just what the doctor ordered to beat these last few gloomy, grey sky days and get ready to welcome warm, lazy days in the sun!

Here are the cards I created – and as you can see, the colors and icons in this collection are so yummy! Full of beautiful, rich colors and so many touches of florals and vintage bits! I was in card-making heaven creating these cards!

Let’s take a closer look at each of the cards!

My first card features a bold sentiment of “bloom and grow” and is layered with lots of ephemera, ribbon, brads, and even a paper flower! Aren’t the berries so fun?

This next card again has a large sentiment from the chipboard stickers. I love the dimension these elements give and make such a statement! The collection has some gorgeous butterflies as well, and if you look closely – you can see where I added a few glitter Stickles on the wings for some sparkle.

I really like using the 3x4 cards included in the 6x8 paper pad for my sentiments like I did here on this card. I also had to add some of this yummy gingham ribbon to the bottom of the card for some texture. The red in this collection is so vibrant and makes the other more subtle colors in the collection just pop!

On this next card, I added a few blue elements and papers; this was such a pretty contrast with the greens and reds of this card. I layered lots of ephemera on this card as well, as this collection is full of great ephemera to layer up like I love to do!

Sometimes, you just need to add a doily! This pretty white doily from my stash makes a great base to layer up some of the Bits and Pieces in the collection. That cute yellow Mason jar is from the Chipboard Stickers and was a great place to add my “So Sweet” sentiment

On my last card, I was going for a pretty patchwork quilt look and achieved that with some pattern papers, tags, and heart stickers. Isn’t the View-Master film so fun?  That is from the Layered Chipboard and is one of our newer products. Again, the chipboard adds great dimension to cards, so I turn to it often!
