Inspired by Project - Chocolate Lover's Gift Set

In my book - there is always room for chocolate - its the perfect pick me up and chocolate just makes people happy -so when we were challenged to find a previously done project from the many created by our talented design team - I knew I wanted to do a cute little chocolate gift set for a friend inspired by this darling project by Wendy Sue Anderson. You can find her blog post here: Kraft in Color Candy Bar Wrappers

I used my trusty Silhouette Cameo to cut out the bag and box. I used the 3-D Window Treat Box shape and modified the bracket shape window to make a rounded rectangle window instead. I took a cellophane bag and filled it with some mini Hershey bars. I used some darling papers, washi tape and pixies from the Sweetheart line. I also added some fun heart shape sprinkles for some added dimension. Tie some ribbon and twine to the top of the bag to complete this cute bag.

For the cute handled box, I used the 3-D Candy Bar Holder. I loved the slide out box that you put a full size Hershey bar in. I used the same products on this box as I did for the bag above. Such a fun little surprise for your recipient!

Thanks Wendy Sue for the "sweet" inspiration! I know whoever gets these fun gifts will love them! Happy Crafting!

Doodlebug Design Color Challenge - Beetle Black

Beetle Black Color Challenge by Tya Smith

The famous artist Renoir stated "I've been 40 years discovering that the queen of all colors was Black."
When we were given the choice of what color we wanted to focus on I knew right away that I wanted to do my favorite color - black. I have always loved black - it is timeless, and sophisticated and classic. In fashion it is said that every lady should own a little black dress - (I do) - and every season it seems like a new color that is in style is called "The New Black" - but nothing can replace this beautiful color. I love that Doodlebug includes black in its repertoire because basically black looks AMAZING paired with any of the other beautiful bright hues that Doodlebug has.
I created this fun layout with lots of black and white and just a pop of fun Limeade green. This is at my little brothers wedding and of course wedding photos look wonderful in black and white. I love how the green just pops off the page when paired with the Beetle Black products!

I actually based the color scheme of this layout from this sweet Lily Doodlepop. I loved how the green went with the black and white flower so beautifully! I added some flower stickers and some Beetle Black and Limeade Sequins as well for some sparkle.

I used my Silhouette Cameo to make the title with one of my favorite new fonts Grand Hotel. Such pretty script font.
Finally I journaled about why I loved this photo and focused only on it for my layout. I just says "Happy Family" to me when I look at it. I love that Doodlebug made the PERFECT papers and embellishments to get the classic, timeless look to capture this special memory.
So I hope that my layout has inspired you to pull out all of the Beetle Black Doodlebug products that you can find and have fun creating with this "queen of all colors". Happy Crafting!
