April Lori Whitock Design Team Blog Hop

Hi friends - welcome to Lori Whitlock's March Blog Hop! You should have arrived here from Cathy's blog or you can start at the very beginning at Lori's blog where you can pick up this darling freebie!

So - I was feeling a little bit in the springtime-y mood so I decided for my creative team projects this month, I would make 2 cards featuring butterflies! Lori has quite a few beautiful cut files featuring butterflies - it was a little hard to choose just 2, but I loved how these both turned out.

The first card is a card shape that I have never used before and I love it! This is the tri-fold shadow box butterfly card. I used some beautiful papers from the Jill line that Lori designed for Echo Park. The colors are so rich and vibrant and look great with my favorite basic color - Kraft!
I added some enamel dots to the lacy butterfly part of the card. I also added a fun sentiment from the Jill sticker sheet.

The next card I did is the Stand Up Card Butterfly. This card was especially fun because it is a little easel card , and I loved the way the vines in the window portion highlight the butterfly perfectly.

I cut out an additional butterfly and layered it on top of the other butterfly that I glued to the card base. I added more of the enamel dots for the butterfly body. The Jill line has some great embellishments that I loved using with these cards.
